The rest of our Friday walk
May. 15th, 2022 10:30 amWe walked home from Coalbrookdale- its somewhere between eight and nine miles, partly in woodland and partly on country lanes.
This is the Coalbrookdale Road which takes you to Little Wenlock:

And looking back towards the Severn Gorge:

The hawthorns are now in full bloom. Well, they do call it may.

Sheeps under the Wrekin on the pasture in Little Wenlock village:

And the Wrekin from the Little Wenlock Road:

I love the way you can see the split between coniferous growth higher up and deciduous lower down on the slopes of the Wrekin:

And we took a detour into Wenlock's Wood as we knew the bluebells would now be in full bloom since the last time I posted from there. We were not disappointed!

We were lucky to spot a herd of deer just off the Little Wenlock road. These are roe deer:

Nature makes art:

Growth on a path in Ercall Wood:

The oil seed rape is beginning to set. That's home down there in the valley:

Nature makes art again:

A view across our town to the Weald Moors, the Shropshire Plain and the hills beyond:

And that was our walk.
