Bunches of Blooms

To celebrate the final day of 3weeksfordreamwidth, a variety of blooms from around our neighborhood taken over the last few weeks.

Flowering fruit trees are the prettiest!

I don't know that I've ever seen any of these trees produce fruit. Do you know what kind they are?

All the pink ones are almost certainly ornamental cherries and I know some of those are sterile so they propably don't produce any berries. The last one looks like some sort of apple blossoms and I think most of those produce fruit, albeit very tiny ones in some cases.

How beautiful! Looks like apple or crabapple, maybe cherry, dogwood, and Japanese maple. :D

Yes! The Japanese maple is the only one I knew so finally getting some idea about the others 🙂

Distinguishing between crabapples and apples, or either of those and cherry, can be tricky because the flowers are so similar. Cherries have different bark though -- often with sort of horizontal stripes.
