Or at least none that we saw. The heron has been around a good bit lately. Caught them above seeming to look pensively at the growing sunset.



What we've been seeing less of are the ducks, who must be hanging out somewhere else because we only get visits every once in a while and not by the large group. I'm guessing it's due to the algae sinking under the surface now that the weather has cooled.

Big bird! Did you get that close or is that zoom? xD I always want to see big birds up close, but it's always so hard!

Oh definitely zoom. We shot this from our balcony although the heron was not that far away. However the birds are skittish. Just being on the balcony can be enough to send them flying.

I love herons--they're so majestic :) I see one occasionally by the stormpond and it's just amazing when they fly overhead.

Yeah, they're such big birds it's definitely a sight when they take off.
