I have literally just moved to Lowestoft on the East Coast of Britain and this part of the coast keeps surprising me. When I turned inland for the last mile on a walk to the local Tesco I wasn't expecting what I found. I also wasn't expecting the cloudburst we got either, but the flowers were a nice touch.
This is the way up from the beach at Tramp's Alley (and yes
themadblonde it is apparently haunted).

A large area around Pleasurewood Hills (the local small-sized Alton Towers knock-off), near the abandoned Lowestoft - Gorleston railway (thank you Dr Beeching, thank goodness for the replacement X1 bus!) and around Foxburrow Wood is mostly local nature reserves. Here is a Nodding or Musk Thistle (like the one I saw in the field behind where
garienos lives.)

This is what really got me excited. Over the hedge is Lowestoft Tesco car park and this is a meadow of Knapweed and (what I think) is Fleabane. [edit - I checked The Concise British Flora in Colour and I am right].

More Knapweed and St John's Wort:

This is Clavia acuta fungus (must be all those downpours!):

And here is a sign that autumn really is well and truly on its way:
