In the early hours of the rain/ice/snowstorm we had a few weeks ago, two mourning doves continued courtship on our balcony railing. They were apparently undeterred by the weather or the frequent comings and goings of other birds fleeing the weather.
Why the didn't take this to our shelves or balcony floor, I've no idea. They seem to like the railing.
The other birds came and went from the railing to warmer, drier spots, but not these two.
I'm pretty sure there's a nest out there somewhere. They're visiting our balcony right now on another rainy, gloomy morning -- still on the railing.
