A walk in the Ercall Forest

We got a walk in yesterday.  I've been a bit quiet because we had such an awful Spring but things have finally cheered up.

Wild garlic was in full bloom (and smell).



Imagine the scent along this path as that's all wild garlic:



Looking back down where we'd just walked up. It's quite a steady climb out from the valley:



There are still a few bluebells but past their best now. Not as good a year for them as last year:







So much green!



More bluebells:







And wild garlic (it makes such good pesto).



And a dandelion puffball:

I would go absolutely feral if I found that much wild garlic. Cats have their catnip; I have garlic. Love it.

Also, that fifth from the last photo, right after "More bluebells:" looks magical with the lighting. Fairies wouldn't look out of place. I really like that photo.

It does make a wonderful pesto which freezes well.

I do sometimes expect to run into the fae folk up there! :o)
