This year Husband has decided to only do minimal mowing of the whole garden. No Mow May happened by way of not really finding time to get around to it anyway, and then it was so long and so late in the month anyway, you may as well pretend it was the plan all along. He has mown some paths but otherwise left the rest to do its thing. We have had an area like this close to the kitchen garden for a couple of years, but this year it's the whole garden.
Already I am rewarded with this mother shipton moth, which sat cooperatively still to get good pictures for identification. Bonus, it's not even marked off in the butterflies and moths book yet as a species we've seen!

Sounds good to me! :)
