Bird bonanza!

common_natureBack in the 1980s, I did a lot of birding, and loved it. Then we moved, and I ended up in a place on the ocean with no trees and few birds aside from seagulls for 18 years. Now we've finally moved back to a place where I'm surrounded by trees, and that means I've got my birds back!
Sorry the first couple of pics are so bad; they were taken with my cell phone, before we got the new 28x zoom camera. All of the pics are also taken through a window.
Two chickadees in the slat holes of the deck (taken with cell phone):
Hairy woodpecker in crook of tree (taken with cell phone):
Two dark-eyed juncos:
Purple finch:
Song sparrow:
Starling (the bane of our suet feeder; we took it down and will replace it with an upside-down suet feeder he can't access):
Goldfinch (we get tons of these, yay!):

Downy woodpecker (couldn't get a clear shot of his face this time.) The Downy and Hairy woodpeckers look almost alike except for the Hairy being much bigger:

We were told there were cardinals nearby, which is really cool because they're not native to this area, but I didn't hope to see them right outside my window! Here's a mother and baby (it's a little fuzzy - I got better pics of them by themselves, but not together):
it took another week for Daddy to put in an appearance:
We have movies, too!
