A walk in the Wrekin forest

We've had weeks of pretty awful weather but now with Summer approaching Autumn we finally get some decent weather so we took ourselves out into the forest to cover some miles.

The rosebay willowherb is beginning to fade as are the thistles in front of it:



After all the wet weather Ercall Pool has refilled. It was a little bit hazy first thing:

And a dingy skipper with a slightly damaged wing- someone tried to make a snack of this little guy.

I still wonder what you're allowed to get up to on a permissive footpath!



A very late flowering foxglove- most of them are long gone now.

A micro fungus with a growth of lichen:



And that was our walk. Something like ten miles.
