Grey Titmouse and Blue Herons

Went out with a friend a week ago to one of the local lakes to take some pictures. Just noticed that there were herons in some of these trees, not only their nests. :)

I was so pleased to spot the birds in them. :) Really ought to look up their breeding season and sit for a spell when the nestlings start hatching.

Your top photo reminded me that one of the pluses of bare trees in winter is discovering all the places birds nested earlier -- and being able to sometimes guess the birds that used them.

Oh yay. I'm not so bad at birds as I feared. :)

I'd like to get out there to watch those herons while they're nesting. Should be over the next couple months.
