Return of the Birds

Lovely! I've never had the chance to see a Horned Grebe (#4) before. They're supposed to pass through here during migration but so far I haven't had the pleasure.

That tree is really pretty. Do you know what type of tree it is?

I am very plant-dumb. My best guess is that it's some kind of dogwood tree but I'll bet someone here knows!

I think it's probably some sort of ornamental apple tree. Some of those have dark pink flowers just like that.

The photos of the heron are just awesome! I've never seen one this close before. It looks so regal striding along like that.
