Birds, Bugs and Space

Some more photos from summer before moving on to autumn pics.
Another photo from the same sunset, some minutes later.
We heard the Killdeer but could barely see it, a brown bird against brown dirt. We saw it mostly as a white spot moving quickly around. Amazed this came out so clearly at that distance with a difficult aim.
As usual at the end of the season, the hummingbirds began fighting over the feeder. We went through at least 3 weeks of hearing the hum, clack and chitter on the balcony.
There was a harvest moon some 6 weeks ago I think. Captured these photos then. The moon was so bright that it was difficult to get a photo of it that wasn't just a glaring white ball or to get a background for the water reflection that wasn't just black.

Discovered that there was not only a Harriet, but maybe a Harry in our container garden? If so, he probably was not long for this world.
