on a cold frosty morning

We have no snow here in southeastern Sweden, but after a couple of clear and cold nights (with overcast days, alas) the heavy frost covering everything looks very pretty.

Interesting question. I could probably find some frost-responsible entities in children's books and fairy tales but as far as I know there are none in anything older than say, late 19th century.
