This afternoon I went outside intending to fasten the decorative wagonwheel, but it was half-buried under snow. I noticed the view looked pretty, though, so I went back for my camera and took pictures instead.
South of the driveway, on the edge of the forest yard, a few trails of tracks cross the snow.

North of the driveway, along the Midwinter Grove, there are so many tracks of varying ages that you have to look closely to identify individual trails. This is a very high-traffic part of the yard, as the wildlife clearly prefers the evergreen cover.

Looking west from the end of the driveway, this is a wide view of the sunset.

In this taller view, you can see more of the higher clouds.

Looking down the road to the south, you can see that most of the ice has melted off, leaving large puddles.

Looking southwest, you can see one of the nearby farms, standing out against the snowy fields and pale winter sky.

This is a closer view of the sunset.

Another farm lies to the northwest, a dark line against a light background.

Looking up the road to the north, it's mostly clear but has a bit more ice than the south does.

Later in the evening, the colors had developed more, so I went back out. This is a wide view of the later sunset.

In a closeup of the later sunset, the darkened field of snow contrasts with the fiery sky.

This tall view captures some of the dark, swirling clouds.

The evening star shines over the snowy fields and setting sun.
