Conwy

We spent a few days in Conwy in north Wales recently and had wonderful weather for it.

It's only a brief train ride from where we live. North Wales is our nearest coast.

There's little left of it as the stone was used to build the 13th century Conwy castle in the first pic.

Absolutely gorgeous! I used to live near Conway as a child and I remember visiting as parts of days out fondly, so this is a very nostalgic set of photos.

They spell it Conwy in the Welsh style these days.

Oops, sorry. I think it was even spelled that way when I lived near there but my brain clearly isn't online right now.

I was in Conwy ten years ago and it's so good to know it's looking just as lovely as it did back then!

It's a great pity the castle isn't on that hill still, I bet it would look spectacular.

Great views! And I cheer your luck with the weather. We got so lucky with an absence of rain and damp on our trip, it made such a difference.

We were there for six days and had wonderful weather throughout.

These hills look amazing, I would love to go hiking there. And what a strikingly blue sky, too.

Wales is famed for its hill country. Were were close to Eryri (what the English call Snowdonia) and Yr Wyddfa (which the English call Mt Snowdon). I admit to being English, but living in the border Marches I've bothered to work out a little Welsh at least as we hear and see a lot of it in Shropshire.
