Blackbird nest

[mific]

Spring now, so here's a very bad photo of a blackbird nest in the creeper outside my window. A good spot for her, which means we can't see much. She's sitting on the eggs very diligently. I gather it'll take about a month until the chicks fledge, if they (hopefully) survive.

Thanks for giving us this glimpse. Nest well, little ones.

Aw, hope you get to spot a nest full of babies soon!

fingers crossed!

Such a cool photo! I've never seen an occupied bird nest before. Will keep my fingers crossed the chicks will surive.

She moves a bit, ruffles her feathers or sometimes stands and lets air in underneath her, I guess to keep the temp right or to stretch. Must be a mate around I guess, but I haven't seen him bring her food.

Perhaps he’s being exceptionally sneaky about it, the better to avoid betraying the location of the nest?

As summer winds down in the US, it's lovely to see spring things here. Best of luck to the blackbird babies. P.

Good for you, for having provided her such secure shelter!

Well I did plant the creeper. Before that it was just the bare top of the pergola. :)
