White Petunias after the Storm

So it FINALLY stopped raining. And while i made this painting look like the sun was shining, it wasn't; it was and is cold, overcast, windy and damp out there. But my friend said, "Go paint!" and I did and it worked. Although by the time I came in, my fingers were numb. :-)

This is a 10 x 8" oil on canvas panel, same as the peony and the irises.

:-) Thank you. I really liked the way the flowers were nodding, and the softness of the white and green. I'd never tried to capture anything like that in oils before and was really surprised at how well it went.

Thank you. And the next day? They were gone -- hauled away by the landscapers who, no doubt, replaced them with something new.
