Insects are cool, and that is a good photo of one.

I've posted insects here in the past with no problem, I guess just put it behind a cut in case some people do have a phobia and say what you're posting. ;-)

Great shot. And from my own dragonfly/damselfly hunting, I giggled slightly at the comparison with the previous year, about not falling in the river.

I usually manage to indicate what I'm posting but I do occasionally suffer brief cut-fail. I always check my cuts but the preview button doesn't work with my browser and I'm on dial-up so by the time I've fixed the cut then several people have seen it.

Thank you for the compliment. I think most wildlife photographers have fallen down holes and stepped in substances at some point while stalking their prey. I didn't mind the idea of sliding gently into the edge of a calm River Avon in a dry summer at a place where I had plenty of opportunities to climb back out again but the fast-flowing River Severn in flood is a different kettle of fish and, I confess, the banks were overgrown enough that I didn't realise where the edge was until I was next to it. Crawling slowly ftw!

I'll second what rinkle said about using a cut and cut text. I mean, if it's a wasp or a spider I'm not going to click, but damselflies are okay by me.
