Wisconsin Landscapes

A 7 x 5" oil on panel from yesterday. I loved the softness of this landscape. Below, the trail I hiked today.



I was in the middle of sketching this when I found a tick crawling on my arm. Crushed it and ... finished my drawing, dammit. Later, back at the lodge, I added the watercolor. This little sketchbook was made for me by a friend who got into bookbinding, and I really love it.

Minong, or maybe Chicog? I'm at a lodge somewhere, not too far from the Minnesota border, about three and a half hours' drive from the Twin Cities.

Thanks! I'm fond of the watercolor, too, for its sense of depth and because I had to finish it from memory hours after making the drawing.
