Yesterday I made a post here, and after Ryda Wrong commented, and I replied, I realized I could see both of our IP Addresses displayed in the comments, so I deleted the post.
I've got a DW staffer who has no idea how that happened and wants screencaps if I can do it again: so if anyone who doesn't mind the ip addy displayed could comment here, please?

Date: 2010-09-04 08:04 pm (UTC)ETA: I noticed that when commenting, I got the Notice: This account is set to log the IP addresses of everyone who comments below the reply box.
ETA2: I can't see either of our IP addresses, for what that's worth -- if the glitch is continuing, I realize that it may only be displayed to the OP anyway.

Date: 2010-09-04 08:07 pm (UTC)(If we want IP logging turned off in this community, by the way, I'm willing to turn it off - I have no strong feelings about it either way, so. It's just that once in a while you need it, and when you do, you needed it yesterday, so I usually leave it on in my communities unless there's a particular need for anonymity.)

Date: 2010-09-04 08:20 pm (UTC)Actually, you should check an older post in the community that you *aren't* OP of, just to make sure you can't see the IPs there. It's possible it is a glitch.
ETA: And if the staffers are confused, it might be that's not how it's supposed to work on DW - it's how I've noticed it working before, though, and it's how it's supposed to work on JF and LJ, so I just assumed it was what DW intended, too.
