Our tree is begrudgingly conceding that it might be spring in the northern hemisphere, and the jay is gently corroborating with particularly plush plumage.

Thank you! It was a good thing I popped out with the camera in the morning, as it became wet, windy and very dark just past noon.

Lovely detail on the blue wing splashes, it has seemed a little like spring lately, although I've never been lucky enough to capture one of these pretty things sitting still long enough! Well done and thanks for posting. :)

Thank you! I was thrilled when I saw where it had positioned itself, as the morning light just touches the upper branches of that tree.

Isn't it! All the birds have their very best plumage on for breeding season. The heads of the male mallards on the canal are brilliantly jewel-toned, and the robins' breasts are vibrant.

Agreed! I like the tufts on their heads as well, especially on windy days. Makes it look like they're wearing decorative hats.
