Wood pigeon

This wood pigeon landed above the baby and me as we lounged under the cherry tree, apparently for the purpose of giving us some fairly serious side-eye.

You can just see its mate's tail over on the right edge of the photo. They often land on the same tree branch but facing opposite directions before swooping down to hoover up all the leftovers from the feeders. I think they were a little peeved that the baby and I were in the way this time.

That stretched-out posture makes a great shot.

It took its time having a really good squiz at us! I think it (and its mate, whose tail is just visible on the right) were slightly put out at being deprived of their afternoon snack with us in the way.
