Green orb-weaver spider

The toddler found this green orb-weaver spider in the interior of the last pink poppy blooming in our garden. It seems to be feasting on a fly. I think the bright red spot on its underside means it's quite young?

I agree! Apparently they're quite common, but are tough to spot since they rarely stray from green foliage. I'm guessing this juvenile was being a little incautious with its choice of venue...!
