I *think* this is a cricket (a speckled bush-cricket). If I'm right, that means we have both grasshoppers and crickets in our garden!

Argh, Google Photos is behaving really badly at the moment. In addition to linking problems, it's not syncing with my phone. Many sadface.

I think I might've fixed it? Can you see it now?

No, and this is the second computer, and third browser I've tried.

If it helps in diagnosing, I saw the same thing with the 1st clip in your post on own feed last night, but not the 2nd one, that worked fine.

It was surprisingly tolerant, given that at one point there were three toddlers standing around it shouting excitedly!

Lovely photo! Was it hard to spot this cricket? Because it looks just as green as its surroundings :)

To be honest, I'm not sure I would have seen it had I not already been peering quite closely at that particular patch of nasturtiums, looking for caterpillars. As you say, it was well camouflaged!
