Date: 2019-03-08 02:50 am (UTC)LJ was, from the very first, extremely insensitive to most of their users, making abrupt changes with no notice or general input. DW may have its problems, but at least it is very respectful of its users.
I'd say that Photobucket has been much the same. They repeatedly reorganized my photos and made changes to their system that resulted in my being unable to access their site from my Linux machine (before they ever went live to the public I did give them feedback on this issue - they told me it wasn't important). Three or four years ago I had had enough and got a Smug Mug account. Night and Day. Lots of support from the site. Extremely easy import of my whole Photobucket account (though I did have to re-establish links to DW) NO reorganization of my photos. I suppose you get what you pay for, though I did pay for Photobucket for a while, until they "upgraded" the site so I couldn't access it one time too many.
