It's always green here but some times are greener than others!

Like that "rot creates art" shot. So many signs of spring now! I've also seen bulbs starting to shoot stalks out of the ground.

Birch rot does appear to create some lovely images.

Oh, those are lovely photos! It's so nice to see spring somewhere, rich and greening, since we just got another 8" of snow last night.

The flowers are all delicately pretty. I think you're right about the possible quince. I wonder if the (non-snowdrop) white ones are, too? I'm not familiar with the flower beyond a Pinterest photo or two. The shape is a little different, but that might be because they're a bit more open. Pretty, anyways.

The white shrub is philadelphus (mock orange) I think.

Lovely photos! Your spring is much further advanced than ours, but then we've had quite a cold spell here for the last couple of weeks.

The red flowered shrub is definitely a Japanese quince (Chaenomeles japonica). You see them quite often in older gardens here. I love the intense colour of their flowers, it's such a contrast to most of the other spring-flowering shrubs. (I suspect the white-flowered shrub is a sloe. It's definitely not mock orange because their flowers are much larger and they don't flower until June.)

It could be sloe, but it's perhaps a little early for them even here. I'll know for sure when I see that one fruit!
