Nihotupu dam, early summer

I drove out to my local reservoir to charge my car battery and check the water levels after the unusually hot spring we've had (global warming and La Niña). It wasn't too bad as despite the heat we've also had bouts of heavy rain. The Watercare site says the local dams are at 85% of usual levels.

there's dampness in the spillway so it must have been overflowing not long ago, or that could be from rain

Yes, combo of summer and the bush being evergreen native trees.

New Zealand has such amazing flora! :D One thing I love about this community and birdfeeding is seeing pictures from far-flung places.
