I always wanted one of these in my garden, and it finally occurred to me to plant one last month. It's in bloom now and seeing it every day makes me happy.
A lovely shot. I used to be rather indifferent to them as I only knew them from graves, where they were planted in far too large numbers. But my husband always wanted some; and as the corner where he had them first would have clashed badly with pink, he got two white ones which are very beautiful. (My husband is a hobby botanist who likes to try almost everything to see if it grows in our climate, or simply because he fancies the plant. I prefer a cottage-garden view in general, and our compromise is trying not to have baldy clashing colours in some areas. *g* )
I haven't seen white ones. The garden centre had red and pink and that was it. The whites are lovely! But as our central bed is dominated by the lavendar and aquilegia, we've stuck with a pink and purple theme there. I'll have to come up with a suitable rationale and location for a white one. :)
