turloughA male Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) has been visiting my bird feeders the last couple of weeks and today I managed to take this photo of him:

We had been wondering why our circular fat ball feeder was still being decimated despite the weather having warmed up. Mystery solved!
