Woodpecker in the rain

turloughNo matter how hard it rains I don't think I've ever seen a bird looking wet before but this Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) that visited one of my feeders today looked distinctly damp!

Works very hard to extract each peanut from the feeder, then flies to sit on the branch and munch on it.
