After the Storm

common_natureSo it finally stopped raining here in the northeastern US! After a truly miserable weekend - half my friends have flooded basements - the sun was gloriously shining during my walk to the T this morning, and I took some pictures to share of Things That Are Growing. \o/!
Moss in the cracks:

Daffodils are growing!

This one caught my eye because it's pushing aside a solidified chunk of recently-sodden mulch to get to the sun.
[an open, upside-down umbrella, torn nearly in half, underneath a shrubbery with its handle pointed in the air]
No umbrella is safe from the hunger of THE SHRUBBERY.
This photo of the frozen Charles River is about a month old, but as I have no place better to post it I'm dropping it here.
