The final set of photos from today mostly covers the flowerbeds and the yard by the house. See the forest garden and south lot, and the savanna and prairie garden.
The daffodil bed is in full bloom.

These daffodils inside the bed have medium-orange cups.

These volunteers outside the bed have pale orange cups. I thought all the volunteers were plain yellow, but these look like a cross between plain yellow and the orange-cupped ones above. :D

If you look closely in this picture, you can see the old telephone pole forming a border between the bed in the foreground and the parking lot in the background. The volunteers are in the back.

Iris, peonies, and tulips are well up in the tulip bed.

Peonies are opening their leaves.

Blue grape hyacinths are blooming under Home Base.

So are daffodils.

Here is the goddess garden.

These bronze crocus are still blooming.

Daffodils are starting to bloom under the mulberry tree.

Grape hyacinths are blooming under the hollow logs.

They are medium blue, light blue, and white.

Here is a closeup of the white ones.

Flowers are blooming around the black walnut tree.

This yellow crocus is still blooming.

The plum tree is in full bloom. Most flowers are open, just a few buds left, and the oldest flowers are starting to shed their petals.

Here is a closeup of the flowers.

The rain garden under the downspout still has a few crocus flowers. The columbine in the upper right corner is much bigger now.

Date: 2022-04-13 09:10 am (UTC)I keep having to explain to people that they're a native woodland species here not garden escapes. :o)
Yes ...
Date: 2022-04-13 05:01 pm (UTC)To make things extra confusing, around here people sometimes say "pasture rose" for an invasive one and a native one, just because they both grow in that location. But they're nothing alike -- the invasive is a big bush with tiny flowers, while the native is a knee-high stem with big flowers.

If I remember right, this is what I planted under the hollow logs.

Some places have bags of all white ones.

There are also pink ones, but they're a lot more expensive, so I haven't gotten any of those yet.
