We've noticed that late in the season hummingbirds take to perching near the feeder. Apparently this is because hummingbirds are moving south from farther north and there is more competition for food sources. Indeed we see two of them chasing one another off every day now.



By our lake is a place where they've added gravel to get equipment into the water. The ducks have colonized it.



During a walk I saw what seemed like silver tipped trees in the distance.
